Fear of the unknown along with attachment to the conditioned prevents an experience of the unconditioned. And what is the unknown unconditioned? Nothing but our own innate Buddha-nature! What silly creatures we are!

GGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11820006311674418847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-595900014735598043.post-77788331470967123862008-05-20T03:22:00.000+07:002008-05-20T03:22:00.000+07:00Wonderful beginning to the new blog, G. Awareness ...Wonderful beginning to the new blog, G. Awareness is a great subject for contemplation and meditation.

This understanding that awareness is an inherent property of space was pretty life-changing for me. You've done an excellent job of describing it.

In my experience, it's attachment that most interferes with our experience of awareness. Or maybe more properly stated, it's a fear of surrendering those attachments. The Geezershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12132213545989946724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-595900014735598043.post-43100319307695558702008-05-19T22:09:00.000+07:002008-05-19T22:09:00.000+07:00Ajahn Sumedho has been a big influence with his em...Ajahn Sumedho has been a big influence with his emphasis on the cultivation of awareness. This, along with the Zen focus of present moment awakening & the 'in-seeing' techniques of Douglas Harding have been the inspiration for my practice over the last quarter of a century. Hence, 'Buddha Space'.

I hope that 'Buddha Space' can help to promote the development of awareness in people's lives (including mine!). The more aware we are, the less we will blindly create more suffering, and Awakening will become more possible.

GGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11820006311674418847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-595900014735598043.post-60358295061228035452008-05-19T20:10:00.000+07:002008-05-19T20:10:00.000+07:00I enjoy Buddha Space. Thanks for reflecting on it enough for me to try it out more often. May you be well in your practice.JDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07062221333467776105noreply@blogger.com
